Charlesland Golf Club
Founded in 1992, Charlesland Golf Club offers a great golfing experience and is renowned for the quality of its welcome and its service. This challenging but fair course was created by renowned golf course
designer Eddie Hackett, who also designed some of Ireland’s most famous links
courses including Waterville, Enniscrone, Murvagh and Connemara. Within sight of the sprawling Wicklow Mountains, Charlesland Golf Club offers contrasting 9’s, with the front 9 skirting the Irish Sea, while the back 9 reverts to a more traditional parkland challenge.
The course at just under 7,000 yards from the championship tees skirts the Irish Sea for the best part of the front nine and the home run is true parkland with many attractive and demanding holes where water comes into play on seven holes. From the back tees it can present a stern test for the low handicap golfer as wind is an ever-present factor and there are many tough par-4s with well-guarded greens. But with generous landing areas there are also good scoring opportunities on the par-5's, and a variety of tees allows all golfers a fair and challenging playing experience.
The club is located on the edge of Greystones, a bustling and vibrant seaside village with it's own picturesque fishing harbour, 45 minutes south of Dublin. The village is well served by modern public transport including the DART commuter rail system.
